Overview

"Recruitment Visualization Cloud" is a recruitment analysis system developed by CastingRoad Co., Ltd. that helps reduce hiring costs by analyzing recruitment data. As a staffing agency, CastingRoad had already been proactively analyzing its own recruitment data. Based on the outcomes of these analyses, they successfully improved their business profitability. As their next move, they decided to turn their recruitment analysis process into a cloud-based system and commercialized it as the "Recruitment Visualization Cloud."

The service targets companies—especially staffing agencies—that spend a certain amount annually on job ads. Since the project required not only development and design but also deep industry knowledge and expertise in handling recruitment data, we were selected as the development partner. As a new business initiative, we divided the project into phases and launched it with minimum functionality. We continue to be involved in the system's operation.

How the Project Started

"We do have a few engineers in-house, but they didn’t have much experience with external-facing services, so we decided to outsource. I spoke with several companies, but most of them had pretty high costs. Since this was our first step into HRTech, budget was a big factor. Ultimately, we chose this partner because the cost was about the same as building in-house, their design was done internally, and they had a solid development track record. Their familiarity with the HR industry was also a plus. On top of that, they showed genuine interest in the project during the planning stage and even offered to help promote it on their HR media platform (HRog), which made their post-launch support all the more attractive."

Challenges & Feedback

"We kicked off the project in October 2020, but the project manager left around December, causing some delays. We had to regroup in January and go back over the requirements, which added unplanned time. Initially, we aimed to launch within the year, but the timeline had to be pushed back. That said, once we regrouped, the rest of the process went smoothly, and we managed to launch by the end of February. While they did apologize for the delay, their recovery afterward was really impressive."

What Went Well

"The communication, definitely. We commissioned them in two stages—requirements definition and development—and the lack of communication errors in both phases was a big plus. Also, each area—like infrastructure and design—had a dedicated lead, so we could interact with the right person for each part. Often the project manager is the only person you see, and you don’t get a clear view of what’s happening behind the scenes. But here, we were able to have direct communication with everyone involved, which made it easier to align on the finer points."

From the Team

Designer

We developed the product design through collaborative iterations with the client. Using the corporate color scheme as the base, we focused on making key information immediately visible. For the dashboard, we carefully considered layout and color balance to ensure clarity even when displaying many data points on one screen. We proposed three different color pattern options, and the client ultimately chose the one based on their corporate branding. We also handled the design of the service's landing page.

Project Manager

Since this was a brand-new business, we broke down the overall scope into phases and launched with minimal functionality. Our team handled everything from requirements definition to release. Given that the system heavily relied on analyzing and managing recruitment cost data, we leveraged our experience with in-house products to ensure smooth development using proven data handling expertise.
