Approved for another four years (2016-2020) to benefit 10 million youth Allocated Budget 12,000 Crores Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) is the flagship scheme of the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE).
The objective of this Skill Certification Scheme is to enable a large number of Indian youth to take up industry-relevant skill training that will help them in securing a better livelihood. Individuals with prior learning experience or skills will also be assessed and certified under Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
Over the last couple of decades India has been the epicenter of consumer demand fuelled by a phenomenal GDP growth. While demand increased across all sectors, demand for high technology products, specifically electronic products has registered significant growth and going by current estimates, the demand for electronics hardware in the country is projected to increase from USD 45 billion in 2009 to USD400 billion by 2020. Accordingly, the Government has initiated several initiatives for the development of electronics sector in the country.
The Government has recently approved National Policy on Electronics (NPE). The present education/skill devleopment system at both formal as well as non formal level needs the improvement to meet the emerging requirement of the ESDM sector. To obtain this objective skill development programme for ESDM sector has emerged.
The Scheme of granting Skill Development Allowance to the unemployed youth has been detailed in the Budget Speech of Hon'ble Chief Minister which aims at providing allowance to educated unemployed persons for their Skill upgradation.
This scheme intends to provide allowance to eligible educated unemployed Himachali youth for their skill upgradation.
This in turn will enable such youth to develop their skill which in turn will enable them to take up employment or self-employment in the Sector of their choice, since this scheme
empowers the youth to choose the Sector in which they would like to develop their skill, at the training institute of their choice.
Making one person in every family digitally literate is one of the integral components of the Prime Minister 's vision of "Digital India".
The Digital Saksharta Abhiyan (DISHA) or National Digital Literacy Mission (NDLM) Scheme has been formulated to impart IT training to 52.5 lakh persons, including Anganwadi and ASHA workers and authorised ration dealers in all the States/UTs across the country so that the non-IT literate citizens are trained to become IT literate so as to enable them to actively and effectively participate in the democratic and developmental process and also enhance their livelihood.
Altogether 52.5 lakh persons, including Anganwadi and ASHA workers and authorised ration dealers will be trained under the programme in two phases. In the first phase, 10 lakh beneficiaries will be trained under the scheme. Nine lakh beneficiaries will be eligible for training fee support from the government. The rest 100,000 beneficiaries will be trained by the industry and civil society partners.
E-Gwaranens plan under e-district project MMP-running state whose main objective is to Kmputrikrn to people-centered services. The project to sequence the entire system has been Kmputraij. E-district project funded by the Government of India project in which the certificate, complaint, the public distribution system, pension, exchange, posted revenue ism and employment centers have been included in the registration services. All these services will be transferring from Magyam of public facility.
The objective of this Scheme is to encourage skill development for youth by providing monetary rewards for successful completion of approved training programs. Specifically, the Scheme aims to:
encourage standardization in the certification process and initiate a process of creating a registry of skills; and
increase productivity of the existing workforce and align the training and certification to the needs of the country.
provide Monetary Awards for Skill Certification to boost employability & productivity of youth by incentivizing them for
reward candidates undergoing skill training by authorized institutions at an average monetary reward of 10,000 per candidate.
benefit 10 lakh youth at an approximate total cost of 1,000 Crores.
Indian Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) sector has emerged as a highly vibrant and dynamic sector of the Indian economy over the last five decades. SMEs not only play crucial role in providing large employment opportunities at comparatively lower capital cost than large industries but also help in industrialization of rural areas. SMEs are complementary to large industries as ancillary units and this sector contributes enormously to the socio-economic development of the country. The Sector consisting of 36 million units, as of today, provides employment to over 80 million persons. The Sector through more than 6,000 products
contributes about 8% to GDP besides 45% to the total manufacturing output and 40% to the exports from the country. The SME sector has the potential to spread industrial growth across the country and can be a major partner in the process of inclusive growth.
The National Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development is an apex organisation under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India engaged in Training, Consultancy, Research and Publication, in order to promote entrepreneurship. The major activities of the institute consist of Training of Trainers (ToT ), Management Development Programmes (MDP), Entrepreneurship- cum-Skill Development Programmes (ESDP) and Entrepreneurship Development Programmes (EDP) etc.
